Coleen Rooney has announced that she and her footballer husband Wayne are expecting a new baby.
The television presenter announced the news via the social networking phenomenon, Twitter.
Ms Rooney’s confirmation of the pending new arrival came after newspaper reports had suggested she had past the first trimester of her pregnancy.
Speaking on Twitter, she said: "Yes I can confirm that baby Rooney is on the way … isn’t it exciting. Thank you everyone, for the lovely messages."
The footballer’s wife also revealed that she and Wayne would not be calling their child anything "weird", unlike some celebrities have done in the past.
England football fans will be hoping that Wayne Rooney continues his current run of good international form in tonight’s World Cup qualifying match with Ukraine.
The Manchester United striker netted twice as England beat Slovakia 4-0 in a friendly match at Wembley on Saturday.
