Former Corrie star Sally Lindsay and director Neil Bartlett have opened up about a new play, which aims to bring the theatre of bingo to the stage.
Everybody Loves a Winner is a new production showing as part of the Manchester International Festival this month and is set to introduce audiences to the drama and excitement of bingo.
In a recent interview with The Stage, director Neil Bartlett revealed that the play features a live unscripted bingo game, meaning anyone can win.
"It is all about hope … your heart rate increases dramatically as you’re playing, because you are telling yourself that your life is about to change.
"The only thing you can be sure of in bingo is that there is always going to be a winner."
A recently-converted bingo fan, actress Sally Lindsay is best known for her role as Shelly Unwin in Coronation Street. She left the ITV soap back in 2006.
