A bingo hall snap was highlighted for its quality at a recent photography awards evening, it has been reported.

Canvey High Street’s numbers game hall was one of the pictures acknowledged for the way it looked, reports the Essex Echo.

Richard Daniels, who is an amateur photographer, was the camera man responsible for the shot, which gained attention at the recent Photography Awards in New York.

He also snapped a caravan park in the Essex town and the outcome of this particular pursuit was also recognised during the ceremony.

Mr Daniels told the newspaper: "If you live on Canvey you don’t notice these things, but if you have been away and then you come back they stand out more."

This comes after BalkanTravellers.com revealed last month that a bingo hall made up part of an exhibition in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. The theme of the display – similar to Mr Daniel’s observations – was locations people regularly walk past but never notice.
