This morning presenter Fern Britton has revealed that working with Phillip Schofield on the show has been "the best fun".

Former Going Live host and Jason and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat performer Schofield is a "magical" person to accompany on screen, she said.

Britton’s comments, made on yesterday’s episode of the popular ITV1 programme, came after she announced that this series would be her last as presenter.

Tabloid rumours suggested that she was quitting due to a pay row, but the 51-year-old has claimed she just wants to spend more time with her family after ten years in front of the cameras.

"The reason [for my departure] is that ten years is a long time on any show and I’m ready for a change," Britton explained.

July 17th is the date of her final appearance on the show, which she has worked on with Schofield for more than six years.
