Charity gives bingo workers its best wishes

Whizz-Kidz, a charity that provides electric wheelchairs for disabled youngsters, has given its backing to two bingo workers, who plan to complete skydives in aid of the group.

Chief executive of the organisation Ruth Owen told the Southport Visiter that she hoped Cameron Bellis and Arnis Empelis – who will do the dive in September – have a “safe landing”.

The two Mecca Bingo workers decided to take part in the activity as part of their company’s programme to raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for Whizz-Kidz.

Commenting further, Ms Owen explained how her charity relies on kind donations from the general public.

“The charity is virtually 100 per cent reliant on voluntary funds so events like this are really important,” she remarked, adding that there are around 70,000 children in the UK who are “vitally” in need of mobility equipment.

Elsewhere in the bingo world, Gala Bingo has pledged to raise £1 million for Sue Ryder Care before the end of next year.
