Cheryl Cole has been named the best dressed celebrity by GMTV, beating off competition from the likes of Alexa Chung, Lily Allen and Pixie Geldof.

The X Factor judge won the accolade at the GMTV High Street Fashion Awards, with Strictly Come Dancing’s Rachel Stevens announcing the result.

Lorraine Kelly, a presenter on GMTV, said that the Girls Aloud singer always gets it right in her style choices.

"It’s the big hair and gorgeous dresses – she looks stunning," she stated.

Nick Ede, GMTV’s lifestyle expert, added: "Cheryl has got that middle ground between Victoria Beckham, who is a bit too groomed, and Kate Moss, who is a bit too grungy."

The 25-year-old singer also recently won the FHM World’s Sexiest Woman award, knocking Transformers star Megan Fox off top spot.

Girls Aloud are rumoured to be going on a break after their current tour, with Cole tipped to launch a major solo career.
