Fans of Sex and the City: The Movie have been informed of the release date for the sequel to the film.

An official announcement from those promoting the picture revealed that the second part of the popular big-screen offering will be available to view on May 28th 2010.

It is the same weekend that the first movie was released in 2008.

All the stars of the first film, which made its name as a cult television series on both sides of the Atlantic, are set to return.

That means that Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis will all be reunited again.

Previous director Michael Patrick King will take charge of the flick, which was such a huge box office hit last spring.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the part of Carrie in Sex and the City, is currently filming Did You Hear About the Morgans? – a movie that also stars English actor Hugh Grant.
