Ross nominated for TV Bafta

Jonathan Ross is one of the four nominees for this year’s Entertainment Performance accolade at the Bafta television awards.

He is in contention for the prize thanks to his Friday Night with Jonathan Ross show despite only just returning from a three-month ban from the BBC.

Ross was reprimanded by the corporation after the station received thousands of complaints about his actions during Russell Brand’s Radio 2 programme last year.

The 48-year-old and his comic partner left lewd messages on the answer-phone of veteran Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs, which were deemed unsuitable by his bosses.

Another contender for the Entertainment Performance gong is Stephen Fry, who has been acknowledged for his presenting of the light-hearted quiz programme QI.

Harry Hill (Harry Hill’s TV Burp) and Newcastle pair Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly (I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here) are also on the shortlist.
