ITV Bingo has developed a couple of soap-themed bingo games, which have got fans of the programmes’ creative juices flowing.

Discussions on the forums for Emmerdale and Coronation Street games have resulted in new bingo calls being developed, reports the Press Association.

Number nine is referred to as ‘Betty’s hot pot with wine’, while ‘Zoe’s institutionalised’ is called when the digit 25 is announced.

William Van Rest, controller of ITV Play, told the news agency that “countless players” have been debating such issues online.

“When we designed these rooms we knew we were combining two of the nation’s great loves, soaps and bingo, but we never imagined it would spark a change in the fundamentals of the game,” he explained.

PartyGaming, which runs PartyBingo, is the company that powers the ITV bingo games.

It comes after the TV channel ran the Melinda Messenger-hosted Bingo Night Live throughout the course of 2008.
