Toilet cleaner sweeps up £23,000 jackpot

A bingo player that works as a toilet cleaner swept up something golden this week, picking up a £23,000 jackpot at a local bingo hall.

The female bingo player from Eastbourne, Rita Hardy, won the prize while visiting her daughter in East Sussex.

The lady was worried that her daughter may go into labour after all the commotion.

“I was afraid of my daughter going into labour as she’s only got five weeks of her pregnancy to go,” she told an online bingo news site.

“It still hasn’t sunk in. I don’t think it will until I have the cheque and the money is in the bank.”

The bingo player’s last win was over 25 years ago when she picked up £2,100.
