Wigan Warriors will be sponsored by online bingo site Mecca Bingo during the coming season.

The Greater Manchester outfit will display the name of the portal on its shirts as they aim to win the engage Super Legaue title and try to win the Challenge Cup.

Players from the club were able to model the new-look shirt during a ceremony on Friday.

Wigan, who play at the JJB Stadium, will be wearing the new shirts when they take to the field in their first Super League game at the start of February against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Mick Hogan, chief executive of Wigan Warriors, said: “We would like to welcome Meccabingo.com on board as our new main sponsor.”

He added that is was “pleasing” to have well-known” brand associated with the club for the 2009 campaign.

Other sponsorship deals involving online bingo firms include Wink Bingo‘s link-up with ITV1 show All Star Family Fortunes and Foxy Bingo‘s alliance with the Jeremy Kyle Show on the same channel.
