Hollywood has discovered a new star – however, he’s not your typical A-lister, as he’s smaller than knee-height and completely covered in fur! The little guy that has taken the world by storm is 9 year old Uggie, a small Jack Russell with a lot of attitude.

This canine cutie has been trotting down the red carpets in a mini bow tie as he has a starring role in the new movie, “The Artist”, which is already tipped for great things, having been nominated for 12 BAFTA awards.

Although it’s Uggie who has stolen the show, he‘s not had any award nominations himself, and in fact BAFTA have had to write to members to explain why Uggie couldn’t be nominated for a Best Supporting Actor award, saying “he is not a human being and his unique motivation as an actor was sausages”!

His story is a rags to riches one, as owner and trainer Omar von Muller, saved Uggie as a puppy. He said, “I was told he was going to be taken to the pound where he might be put down. I went to get him out of the situation.” Now he has 1000’s of Facebook fans, his own Twitter account and you could say he has the world at his paws!
