All casinos and bingo clubs have been warned about new identification documents that were introduced this week.
The Gambling Commission has written a letter to casino trade associations, telling them that the UK Border Agency has started issuing compulsory identity cards for foreign nationals in the UK.
ID in this format has been in circulation since November 25th and it acts as proof of name and age, as well as other criteria.
In a statement on the Gambling Commission’s website, the regulator said: “The commission has released [a] letter to the casino trade associations, for the attention of all licensed casino operators.”
This comes after the Bingo Association made an official statement of its own last week.
According to the trade association, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport recently advised that an order be laid before parliament calling for more Category B3 gaming machines to be permitted in numbers game venues.
