Mecca Bingo workers help kidz
The manager at a Mecca Bingo hall in South Shields has thanked his staff for their fundraising efforts.
Employees at the numbers game venue have brought in £4,000 for mobility charity Whizz-Kidz, reports the Shields Gazette.
And boss Gavin Lee said that his staff worked hard to raise that cash, which is £500 more than their original annual target.
Whizz-Kidz is an organisation that provides special wheelchairs for disabled children and could be set to gain more money between now and the end of the year.
Mr Lee told the newspaper: “I’d like to personally thank all of our club members who generously donated to the cause as well as say a big thank you to my fellow team members.”
Earlier this week, Mecca Bingo revealed the results of a recent survey.
It claimed that Cheryl Cole, who is currently starring as a judge on the X-Factor and is the wife of Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole, is the most inspirational woman of 2008.
