Murray: I played bingo Northern Irish media man Colin Murray has revealed that he played bingo a couple of months ago.

Commenting on BBC Radio 5 Live, the DJ said that he "found it hard to keep up" with the game, as the numbers were called.

He noted to listeners that events in a bingo hall can proceed very quickly.

Murray is currently standing in for Simon Mayo on the station, hosting the news and sports channel's afternoon show.

His bingo opinions became apparent after he spoke to BBC political correspondent John Pienaar, who was broadcasting from a numbers game venue in Scotland.

Pienaar was reporting on the Glasgow East by-election live from a bingo hall in the city.

Murray is known to enjoy poker and is also a passionate supporter of Liverpool Football Club. He used to present a Radio 1 show with Edith Bowman, but now divides his time between presenting music programmes on the BBC and football matches on TV's Five.
