The actress who plays Louise Summers in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks will leave the programme at Christmas time.
According to a statement on the show's official web page, Roxanne McKee will be ending her association with the hit series this December.
She joined the show after 2004 talent search programme Hollyoaks: On the Pull decided that she was fit for the role.
But she will exit in an "explosive storyline" sometime during the forthcoming festive period.
The website said it has been "confirmed" that McKee will leave Hollyoaks after "rumours [of her departure] had been rife" in recent times.
In the soap, Louise has served a period of time in jail for the murder of her estranged husband. However, it was new lover Warren who actually committed the crime.
Channel 4's character profile page claims that Louise and Warren are "a perfect match for one another's manipulative ways".
