One of the top bosses in the betting and bingo industry is to leave his post this Christmas.
Chairman of Gala Coral John Kelly has announced that he will be departing the group at the end of 2008, reports the Times.
According to the newspaper, the decision to step down is his own and he is not thought to have been pushed.
Mr Kelly was due to leave the position in October 2009, but has opted to move away from the company ten months earlier than planned.
In the summer it was revealed that deputy chairman of Gala Coral and chairman of the Business in Leisure and Sport chairman Neil Goulden would be stepping up to take his place.
Gala Bingo, which is owned by Gala Coral, is currently handing out free lightbulbs to it members.
The energy-saving equipment is being dished out in conjunction with Southern Electric and follows a similar scheme run by Mecca Bingo in the summer.
