The game of bingo offers people the chance of winning big money for "not a tremendously amount of outlay", according to one industry figure.
Carlton Bingo manager Shaun Gibson has claimed that the numbers game could provide someone with a timely boost in what is currently a difficult economic climate for many.
Mr Gibson said bingo provides an opportunity for people to "have a good night out that is hassle free as well", reports STV.tv.
The same news source also reveals that more young citizens are turning their attention to bingo than before.
Christina Mcelhinney, manager at Forth Bingo Club in Rosyth, told the channel that under-30s see the numbers game as a cheap night out and a chance to win cash.
Last year, the Gambling Commission published a survey that showed bingo is the only form of gambling more popular with the female population than men.
